Elisa confirms: Change negotiations completed, lays off 357 people

Telecom operator Elisa’s the change negotiations have come to an end, the company informs.

As a result of the negotiations, 357 jobs will be cut from the Elisa group, 347 of which are in Finland.

In October, the reduction need was a maximum of 450 jobs, of which 400 were in Finland. In October, Elisa had approximately 4,700 employees in Finland, a total of 6,800 in the world. So the personnel in Finland were being cut by almost a tenth.

In addition to staff reductions, the change program also includes, among other things, the reduction of outsourced services and the enhancement of procurement. The change program is progressing as planned in terms of cost saving goals, the company says.
