Summa Defense has to borrow money from its owners

Summa Defence says that he negotiated a short-term loan of more than five million euros to finance his operations. Two thirds of the loan would come from the company’s main owners, one third from the bank.

The condition for the realization of bank financing is that the loans promised by the owners come true.

The company’s announcement reveals that its money was already running out in the next few months.

“If implemented, the solution will strengthen the company’s working capital in early 2026, which is necessary to ensure the adequacy of the group’s cash position after the next two months,” the company writes in the announcement.

Financing according to the release, the maturity will only reach the third quarter of 2026. At the end of September, the company’s cash and short-term receivables totaled EUR 2.9 million.

The company also announced on Friday that in November informed by the upcoming “significant trade with a NATO country” will be postponed until next year.

The company’s subsidiaries have negotiated guarantee limits of a total of six million euros with Finnvera. The second one is related to the announced transaction and is conditional on the execution of the transaction.

Summa In recent months, Defense has been in the public eye primarily because of a change in management. Almost the entire previous top management has left Summa Defense during the fall.

Trading in Summa Defence’s shares was suspended on the Helsinki Stock Exchange on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. The company said it would publish a press release on the matter later. Trading in the stock continued on Friday at 15:05 after the announcements were published.
