LIV Capital extends CKD maturity and consolidates Biva

2026 is emerging as a stage of consolidation for the Institutional Stock Exchange (Biva), since its largest partner, LIV Capital, extended the expiration date of development capital certificates (CKD) for one year; that is, until December 19, 2026.

According to information sent by the fund to the investing public, this December 19 the CKD that LIV Capital issued in 2018 to participate in various Mexican companies expired; one of them was Central de Corretajes (Cencor), where he became the main shareholder, and whose company Biva controls.

“Our perspective towards 2026 is a year that is emerging as a stage of consolidation, with a robust new financing agenda that seeks to work in a more competitive and useful market for the economic development of the country,” said María Ariza, general director of Biva.

In November, LIV Capital announced that a meeting approved extending the maturity date of CKDs by one year. The fund raised resources from the investing public through certificates, whose resources were used to invest in companies in various sectors, such as the stock market with Biva.

However, the instrument has an expiration date and is required to exit that investment, by selling it to a third party, that is, you must mainly sell your shares on the stock market. Thus, the offers that arrive during these months will be studied by the fund.

After 43 years of there being only one stock exchange in the country, on July 25, 2018, a second market began operations, called the Institutional Stock Exchange, to offer companies a new source of financing and greater options for investors.

“The validity of the CKD is extended by one year with expiration until December 19, 2026, so the funds will not yet be liquidated, so the investments are maintained. As they are trusts, the characteristics can change, as long as the majority of shareholders approve it in the assembly; which was the current case,” explained Jacobo Rodríguez, financial specialist at Roga Capital.
