91% progress in the works of the Rosario Castellanos University in Tlaxcala

The construction of the Rosario Castellanos National University Teolocholco campus, in Tlaxcala, is 91 percent complete. With an investment of 130 million pesos, it will benefit more than 1,600 students, reported the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT). The project has a total area of ​​13,833 square meters. In the first stage, four buildings were built: a building with 20 classrooms for 800 students; a building with four laboratories, two computing areas and two specialty areas, an auditorium with capacity for 300 people and a building used as a library and administrative area. During its construction, 450 direct and 100 indirect jobs have been generated, which boosts the local economy mainly in the municipality of San Luis Teolocholco.

The SICT detailed that in its first generation, the new university will have an enrollment of 1,680 students, 840 per shift, who will be provided with a decent, modern and accessible space for their professional training.

He added that the Rosario Castellanos University (URC) in Tlaxcala offers in-person and distance degrees, such as accounting and finance, law and citizen security, communication sciences, psychology, tourism, administration and commerce, and environmental sciences for urban areas.

“With these actions, the Mexican government combats the backwardness that Tlaxcala faced for decades in educational matters and provides young people with the opportunity to train professionally,” said the SICT.
