The Israeli defense concern Elbit Maarahot announced on Tuesday, January 6, the conclusion of contracts worth about $150 million for the supply of Iron Fist (Hetz Durban – Porcupine Needle) active protection systems to BAE Systems Hägglunds for integration into the CV90 infantry fighting vehicles of European NATO member countries.
The new contracts follow successful large-scale fire tests in Europe in September, in which Elbit demonstrated the capabilities of its system against modern ammunition.
During testing, the system successfully intercepted more than a dozen 120mm armor-piercing discarding sabot (APFSDS) rounds. The event was attended by high-ranking representatives of European defense departments and military-industrial complex enterprises.
