ARCA enabled the 30% refund for card expenses in dollars: how to do the process

These are the charges that were applied as advances of the Income Tax and Personal Assets, and that now they can return to the pocket of those who are not covered by these taxes or have a favorable balance. For many taxpayers, The refund represents a relief nothing less after a year of tight consumption and high dollar costs.

It is for when the expense is in dollars, but is paid in pesos.

The refund regime is broad. Includes purchases of goods and services abroad paid with a credit or debit card in pesos, international air tickets and tourist packages contracted from local agencies. Digital consumption also comes into play, such as subscriptions to streaming platforms and online services: Netflix, Spotify, Disney+, YouTube Premium, among others.

Some specific items are excluded from the benefit, such as medicines, the purchase of books (both physical and digital), educational platforms and land trips to neighboring countries.

The process is simple and is done online. You only need to have CUIT and tax code. Within the ARCA site, the taxpayer must enter the “Refund of perceptions” service, select the 2025 fiscal period and mark the option corresponding to payments on account for purchases abroad (RG 4815). The system automatically displays perceptions reported by banks and travel agencies, which can be selected and sent for validation.

Once the application is submitted, ARCA analyzes the taxpayer’s tax situation and, if applicable, authorizes the refund, which is credited directly to the declared bank account. Without fixed deadlines, but with growing expectations, thousands of people have already started the process to start the year recovering part of what they spent in dollars.

There is a way to avoid this procedure and is to pay those purchases and consumption in dollars, But here the point to keep in mind is that it must be done before the expiration of the card summary. There are two ways to pay in this way: buying official dollars through the app or with the MEP dollar.

Who can request the refund?: monotributistas and employees in a dependency relationship who are covered by the income or personal property tax.

Once sent, ARCA analyzes the information and, if appropriate, will accredit the amount in the CBU declared by the taxpayer. Accreditation may take several months.
