Maharan Frozenfar will head the budget department of the Ministry of Finance

The Appointments Commission of the Civil Service Authority has approved the appointment of Maharana Frozenfar to the post of head of the budget department of the Ministry of Finance.

The approval came after Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich appointed Michal Abadi-Boinjo to the position of chief auditor of the Ministry of Finance.

Previously, the commission rejected the appointment of Frozenfar three times due to the fact that Smotrich did not appoint women to senior positions in the ministry.

Frosenfar previously served as financial advisor to the IDF Chief of General Staff and led complex budget negotiations with the Treasury Department as a representative of the defense department. After leaving the army, he founded a strategic and financial consulting company, advised key organizations in the economy, and was also a co-owner of insurance agencies. To be appointed to the position, he was required to sign an extensive conflict of interest agreement.
