The assessment of the Helsinki Stock Exchange’s dividend spring was: “Hard to see”

The earnings season of the Helsinki Stock Exchange, which is about to start, also brings with it dividend proposals.

“After all, it is said in Finland that dividend spring is always good”, Suominen began and added that nowadays it is already starting to be a dividend year, because more and more companies distribute dividends throughout the year.

He reminds that the dividends were considered good even when things were going badly.

“In that sense, it’s hard to see that dividends would be drastically cut now,” Suominen said.

Suominen estimates that now the dividend yield percentage will not rise quite as high as before, because the Helsinki Stock Exchange, including dividends, rose by more than 35 percent last year.

“But the dividends will be excellent. Especially now in the earnings season, it is expected that the companies will give a reassuring message that this year looks clearly better than last year, and in that sense, expectations will be raised and then the dividends will be added to the market,” Suominen stated.
