At Drean’s request, the Government investigates whether there is “dumping” in washing machines that arrive from China

The measure adopted was by the Treasury Palace through the Ministry of Industry and Commerce through Resolution 10/2026. This seeks to determine whether these commercial operations They represent a threat to local appliance manufacturers.

The news comes in the same week in which the Government finalized the elimination of import tariffs on cell phones, televisions and video game consoles.

Preliminary reports detected an average dumping margin of 10.43% in the export operations of washing machines from China to Argentina.

According to official data, Imports of Chinese washing machines to Argentina increased by 590% in volume during the first nine months of 2025 compared to the same period of the previous year.

Furthermore, these products entered the market with nationalized prices lower than those of national production.

The period set for the collection of data on alleged dumping covers from October 2024 to September 2025. For its part, the analysis of the damage to the local industry will take into account the evolution of the market from January 2022 to September 2025.
