Mexico extradites one of the defendants in the UTrade case to Israel

Mexican authorities extradited Roy Kuzin, who was wanted for his involvement in the case of defrauding investors in binary options company UTrade, to Israel.

Kuzin worked as a chief analyst at UTrade from 2012 to 2015 under the leadership of Aviv Talmor. During this period, the company fraudulently obtained tens of millions of shekels from approximately 600 clients by misleading them about key aspects of investing.

This false information included information about the risk and potential return of investments, including fictitious past returns, false statements about how funds would be used, and statements about the absence of conflicts of interest between the company and clients.

Cousin was questioned in connection with his role in the 2016 fraud and fled the country shortly after. In 2018, an indictment was filed against him and others. Talmor was convicted and sentenced to four years in prison, to which the Supreme Court then added an additional year.

Cousin moved between different countries, but in July 2025 he was arrested in Mexico on an Israeli warrant. His extradition was approved in December.
