In a context of greater macroeconomic stability, Argentine CEOs show a strong rebound in growth expectationsalthough still cautious when it comes to transforming that optimism into concrete investment and structural changes. This reflects it the 29th edition of the PwC Global CEO Surveypresented this Monday in Davos, which reveals that 87% of local executives expect GDP growth in 2026.
The most compelling data is the climate of trust: one in three CEOs in Argentina declares themselves “extremely confident” in what Your income will increase in the next 12 months. The slowdown in inflation and the macro normalization process appear as the main drivers of this expectation. However, the report warns that the challenge now lies in convert that trust into sustainable competitiveness.
Artificial intelligence is consolidated as the main vector of transformation. 76% of Argentine CEOs consider that their technological infrastructure is prepared to integrate AI and 73% believe that the organizational culture accompanies the change. However, only 41% say they have invested enough to fully capture its benefits and less than half (49%) feel able to attract specialized talent.
The gap between intention and execution is also reflected in the agenda of business leaders: They spend about 60% of their time solving short-term issueswhile only 10% focus on the long term. “Macroeconomic stability opens a window of opportunity, but it does not guarantee competitiveness,” said Miguel Urus, partner in charge of PwC Argentina, when presenting the results.
“In an environment where technology, sustainability and geopolitics redefine the rules, companies that act quickly and with vision will make the difference in the next decade,” said Urus.
EThe impact of AI on employment appears as one of the most sensitive points of the survey. More than 60% of CEOs anticipate a reduction in positions at the least experienced levelswhile managerial and more senior roles would tend to be maintained. The report highlights the need to accelerate reskilling strategies and deepen alliances with the educational system to reconvert job profiles.
Despite the greatest optimism, the Structural challenges remain. High operating costs, tax pressure, labor rigidities, bureaucracy and poor infrastructure continue to condition the competitiveness of companies. In parallel, emerging risks are growing: Cyberattacks lead concerns (23%), along with technological disruption, geopolitical conflicts and increasing tariffs.
Climate change, meanwhile, continues to be relegated to the local agenda. Only 21% of Argentine CEOs claim to have made significant adjustments to product design or the supply chaindespite the fact that at a global level climate risk is already recognized as a relevant financial factor.
At the international level, the survey shows a renewed look at Argentina as an investment destination. The country appears among the priorities for 23% of Brazilian CEOs and 10% of American CEOs, with notable mentions from China and Mexico. Energy, mining and infrastructure projects are once again driving interest, in a scenario where reforms and deregulation could enable a new cycle of mergers and acquisitions.
“The challenge is to accelerate reinvention, scale AI with responsible criteria and manage risks to guarantee sustainability and resilience,” summarized Nicolás Carusoni, partner at PwC Argentina. The diagnosis is clear: there are expectations, there is technology and there is opportunity. Optimism still needs to be transformed into long-term decisions.
