CHAMPIONS LEAGUE. Pocognoli suffers a heavy defeat at Real Madrid with AS Monaco, Arsenal also wins the top match in Milan and PSG surprisingly loses in Lisbon

The big question was whether Romelu Lukaku would make his return to Napoli after 4.5 months. He warmed up against Copenhagen, but did not make a substitute appearance. The Neapolitans took the lead through McTominay after a Danish red card for Thomas Delaney (ex-RSCA). Yet they did not take home the victory: 1-1.

Inter-Arsenal: 1-3

The top match was Inter-Arsenal (1-3). A great clash in which Leandro Trossard was in the starting line-up for Arsenal. The Limburger provided the assist for the 1-2 when he headed back a corner. That was already the 29th goal in a standing phase for Arsenal. The Gunners lead the CL rankings with 21 out of 21.

Real Madrid-AS Monaco: 6-1

For coach Sebastien Pocognoli things continue to drift at Monaco. Acquisition Wout Faes was not eligible to play and the Monegasques were heavily defeated: 6-1. How long can the Belgian T1 survive this situation? At the Royal, Thibaut Courtois only had to show himself a few times. Kylian Mbappé has scored twice and has 11 CL goals in 6 matches. Only Cristiano Ronaldo did that to him before ten years ago.

Villarreal-Ajax: 1-2

And then there was Ajax, which collected few points. The Ajax players started with Dolberg (ex-RSCA) and the Belgians Mika Godts and Jorthy Mokio at the kick-off against Villarreal, Rayane Bounida came on. The latter set up the attack that led to the 1-2 win.

Olympiakos-Leverkusen: 2-0

Costinha in the second minute and Mehdi Taremi in extra time of the first half ensured a 2-0 victory in Piraeus. This puts Olympiacos on 8 points, which is one more than Club. Leverkusen remains stuck at 9 points. The Greeks will play against Ajax next week, which won against Villarreal (1-2). Leverkusen meets the Spaniards.

Sporting-PSG: 2-1

No three-pointer for defending champion PSG on the seventh matchday in the Champions League, on the contrary. The Parisians lost 2-1 to Sporting CP – where Zeno Debast was missing. Colombian striker Luis Suarez scored both goals for the home team, including the winning goal just before the end. At PSG, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia made the nets shake, but without consequence. The French are stuck at 13 points, which means they are still fifth. Sporting has the same number of points and is sixth. PSG will host Newcastle next week, while Sporting will visit Bilbao.

Tottenham-Dortmund: 2-0

Tottenham did what it had to do: beat Borussia Dortmund in front of their home crowd. Christian Romero opened the score for Spurs after fifteen minutes, after which the visitors from Germany found themselves down to ten after a red card for Daniel Svensson. Not much later, Dominic Solanke scored with a lot of luck to make it 2-0, which was also the final score in London. Tottenham is fourth with 14 points and will play against Frankfurt next week. Dortmund is twelfth with 11 points and will meet Inter at home.

Bodo/Glimt-Man City: 3-1

But the stunt of this match day was for Bodo Glimt. The Norwegians actually won 3-1 against Man City, where Jérémy Doku remained on the bench after a kick in the Manchester derby.
