Against this, Pentikäinen criticized the European Parliament’s demand to submit the trade agreement concluded with the Mercosur countries to the EU Court of Justice for evaluation. This slows down the opening of new markets, he writes.

European must be strict and united towards Trump in the future as well, according to Pentikäinen. Trump’s threats also made clear the growing importance of the Arctic region.

“Therefore, it is essential that a solution is found in Greenland that strengthens NATO in the Arctic region and also protects the Arctic security interests of the United States. It can also bring opportunities to Finland.”
