About 2,000 tasks are covered by the negotiations.

Telecom operator Telia will initiate change negotiations, which may lead to a reduction of approximately 200 positions in Finland.

The company says in its press release that it is simplifying the organization in order to cut costs and streamline operations.

According to Telia, the plans may lead to the termination of approximately 280 positions and the establishment of approximately 80 new positions in the company’s operations in Finland. The planned changes can therefore lead to a net reduction of approximately 200 tasks.

At the same time, Telia announces that it will increase investments in the area of security and defense, for example to develop dual-use technology to support critical national operations.

Telia has approximately 3,000 employees in Finland, of which approximately 2,000 positions are under negotiation. The planned changes do not apply to consumer customer service or Telia Stores.

Negotiation processes started in different units will end during February.

Most recently, large change negotiations regarding operations in Finland took place at Telia more than a year ago. Then Telia reduced 500 jobs in Finland.
