Veracruz, Ver., Faced with the winter storm that is approaching in the south of the United States – where a good part of the natural gas used in Mexico comes from –, President Claudia Sheinbaum said that there is a special contract with the companies that supply the fuel “which establishes under what conditions the price can increase.” The president commented that the Federal Electricity Commission is already preparing contingency measures in case a lower supply of natural gas could occur as a result of adverse weather conditions, as occurred a few years ago in a very similar situation.
