Former FLC Chairman Trinh Van Quyet reappears

FLC Group and Bamboo Airways recently met with Ambassador Choi Youngsam at the Korean Embassy headquarters. Former Chairman of the Board of Directors and founder of FLC Trinh Van Quyet appeared at this meeting. Mr. Quyet was also the person who gave the Korean Ambassador in Vietnam a Bamboo Airways aircraft model.

The meeting between FLC and the Korean Embassy aimed to exchange cooperation orientations and expand connections between the two countries’ business communities.

Mr. Choi Youngsam said that FLC Group is the first business delegation to visit and work with the Korean Embassy on the occasion of the New Year. He highly appreciated FLC’s role and field development orientation, contributing to promoting the strategic partnership between the two countries in depth through investment projects, business cooperation and economic and tourism exchanges.

According to FLC leaders, Korea is one of the important strategic partners in the group’s long-term development orientation. At FLC resort complexes, Korean tourists make up the majority, with more than 50% of the total number of international visitors each year.

Previously, right from the early stages of expanding into the international market, Bamboo Airways soon identified Korea as one of its key markets. Since 2019, the airline has launched the first direct flight connecting Vietnam and Korea, from Da Nang to Seoul. After that, the airline expanded its network with regular routes from Cam Ranh, Hanoi to Incheon. It is expected that in April 2026, FLC will organize a roadshow to promote investment and tourism in Korea.

Previously, Mr. Quyet was arrested in March 2022. In June 2025, the former FLC Chairman had his sentence reduced to 7 years in prison for the crime Fraudulent appropriation of property.

FLC takes over the management of Bamboo Airways at the end of September 2025 after separating and operating independently from this group from May 2023. Currently, FLC is still in the process of restoring operations and scale for this airline.

At its peak, Bamboo Airways operated 30 aircraft, including a transcontinental wide-body fleet. FLC is aiming to bring its fleet back to 30 aircraft. In the medium term, Bamboo Airways plans to add 8-10 aircraft per year to meet the needs of accelerating flight network development until 2030. To do this, this business has worked with a number of domestic and international partners with experience in aircraft leasing – purchasing and finance to find cooperation solutions and support investment capital for the airline.

With FLC, this group determines that real estate is still the main segment. The enterprise said it owns 50 projects being implemented and researched in many provinces and cities, of which the key points are Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Quang Tri and Gia Lai. In 2025, FLC expects after-tax profit from the real estate segment to be about VND 635 billion.

Currently, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of FLC is Mr. Vu Anh Tuan, Ms. Bui Hai Huyen holds the role of General Director. At Bamboo Airways, Mr. Bui Quang Dung is Chairman of the Board of Directors, and the General Director of the airline is Mr. Truong Phuong Thanh.
