Baker Hughes will deepen its relationship with Hydrostor, integrating thetechnological skillsby Baker Hughes as part of Hydrostor’s core engineering offering for its advanced solutioncompressed air energy storage (A-CAES). Baker Hughes then announced that it had secured several contracts to operate one of the company’s first manufacturing facilitieslow carbon ammonia fertilizersin the United States, developed by Wabash Valley Resources (Wvr).
Baker Hughes fornirà essential compression solutions e integrated construction of wellsin support of different parts of theclean ammonia value chainfrom hydrogen production to separation and morepermanent sequestration of CO2. The project, located in West Terre Haute, Indiana, will repurpose an existing gasification plant into a state-of-the-art plant for the production ofclean ammonia.
Once operational, it will be able to produce500,000 tons of ammonia per yearcapturing1.67 million tons of CO2 per yearand helping to create a supply ofmore sustainable and reliable fertilizersfor the US Corn Belt and the agricultural market in general. Under the new contracts, Baker Hughes will leverage its broad portfolio to delivercompression equipment a Honeywell.

These latest awards follow a separate contract forconstruction of wellsstipulated in the third quarter of 2025 in support oflong-term CO2 storage infrastructureof the site. This includes building twoCO2 injection wells e quattro monitoring wellsusingadvanced completion systems e corrosion resistant concreteto guarantee thelong-term integrity. Le advanced monitoring technologiesimplemented in the wells will support theregulatory compliancela environmental protection e la complete management of the CO2 life cycle.
