Lockheed Martin will increase production of THAAD interceptor missiles from 96 to 400 per year

The American defense concern Lockheed Martin has signed an agreement with the US Department of Defense to increase the production rate of interceptor missiles for THAAD missile defense systems.

Currently, the concern has increased its production rate to 96 missiles per year. The agreement provides for an increase in production to 400 missiles per year

The decision comes amid growing tensions with Iran and the need to ensure technological superiority.

To implement this move, Lockheed Martin established a dedicated manufacturing and training center in Camden, Arkansas. $7 billion has been invested in manufacturing complexes in Arkansas, Alabama and Florida.
