February is a black month for transport: trains, planes and buses at risk of chaos

February ‘black’ month for i transportwith a new one wave of strikes which involves workers in the sector, from buses and metro passing through trains and planes up to the seaside. At the national level i three days chaos and inconvenience are most at risk 6 for the port sector, 16th for those traveling by plane and 28th February for trains.

Train strike: Trenord stop and inconveniences at the end of the month

The first to fold their arms today for 24 hours are the Trenord employees who join the protest proclaimed by the Orsa union. Trains should still run in the guaranteed time slots, from 6am to 9am and from 6pm to 9pm.

“In the event of cancellation of airport service trains”, we read on the Trenord website, “they will be buses established without intermediate stops between: Milan Cadorna and Malpensa Airport for the RE54 line (from Milan Cadorna the buses will leave from via Paleocapa 1); Stabio and Malpensa Airport for the S50 Malpensa Airport – Stabio airport connection”.

Regional strikes: Lazio and Rimini

In the Laziohowever, a four-hour strike is planned – called by various sector unions – for the workers of railway contracts of Elior Divisione Itinere/Polariswhile a Rimini the eight hour stop (from 9am to 5pm) on staff of the Trenitalia Cyclic Maintenance Workshop could create inconveniences due to the probable reduction of convoys.

National port strike on 6 February

Train strike at the end of the month: national railway stop

At the end of the month the greatest inconveniences are for those who take the train. State Railways stops starting from 9pm Friday 27 February until 8.59pm on Saturday 28 for a national strike of engine and on-board staff, with possible inconveniences on regional, Frecce and Intercity trains. On Saturday the guarantee bands may change or not be guaranteed.

More strikes planned for the month

Other strikes concern the Municipality of Como on 11 February, whose employees cross their arms for 24 hours. Two days later, on the 13th, possible disruptions to local public transport in Bolzano and Termoli for 24 hours, while on the 24th urban transport in Udine was at risk from 3pm to midnight.
