STOCK EXCHANGE: The Helsinki Stock Exchange rose 1.7 percent during the week of results – Valmet fell 9% on Friday

The Helsinki Stock Exchange turned from a slump to an upswing on Friday. Investors felt that riskier asset classes were suitable. The stock market were rising on Wall Street and US government bonds prices fell under selling pressure.

On Friday, the general index describing the price development of shares in the Helsinki Stock Exchange ended at 12,772 points, i.e. 0.4 percent higher than yesterday. Compared to last week’s closing reading on Friday, the index rose by 1.7 percent this week.

On Friday, the bank was at the top of the most traded Nordea with an increase of 1.3 percent to 16.73 euros. Nordea was followed by a seller of elevators Kone With a decrease of 5.5 percent to 60.04 euros.

Today, Kone published its financial statements and interim report for October-December. Analysis house Inderes and the bank OP: n according to Kone’s interim report met expectations in the big picture.

The OP estimates that the positive aspect of the report was orders that were clearly better than expected. According to the bank, the margin guidance is softer than expected.

Kone advises that the share of adjusted operating profit in turnover will be 12.3-13.0 percent this year, while analysts had expected a margin of 12.9 percent for this year.

Valmet’s instructions failed

Selling machines to forest companies Training fell by 8.6 percent to 27.32 euros. Valmet’s result and order intake exceeded expectations, but turnover decreased from the comparison period, when analysts expected growth.

OP points out that the guidance remained cautious compared to analysts’ expectations, which may explain the course development.

Konepaja estimates that its net sales will be at the same level this year and its ebita operating profit will be at the same level or better than last year. Analysts had estimated turnover to grow by 8.6 percent and ebita operating profit by ten percent this year.

YIT falls, even though the report was good for analysts

In addition to Valmet and Kone, construction companies published their results today YIT, Consti and Created and formerly known as Stockmann Lindex.

YIT fell by 5.6 percent to 27.32 euros. The analysts of OP and Inderes considered YIT’s report to be fundamentally strong.

“The reason for YIT’s softness may be the commentary on the domestic housing market. YIT does not expect the sales volumes of the new housing market to increase in Finland during 2026,” OP’s analysis team writes via email.

The number of new apartment completions will remain low this year, which limits the ability to make a profit. YIT’s share price had risen quite a lot before the result, and expectations for a market turnaround were high, the email says.

Kreate is suitable for investors

Const’s share rose by 0.8 percent to 12.05 euros. Kreate’s share rose 6.1 percent to EUR 14.00.

Inderes analyzed that Kreate’s report was very strong. In terms of turnover, the guidance was stronger than the analysis house’s expectations, while in terms of profitability, Inderes’ forecast was at the lower end of the guidance range.

Lindex shares jumped 12.4 percent to 2.64 euros.

Stockmann’s adjusted operating profit for the whole year was positive for the first time in many years. No further information was received about the possible sale of Stockmann’s department store business.

Changes to Sampo’s target prices

Announced its results yesterday Sampo was among the most traded shares, up 0.5 percent at 9.33 euros. The non-life insurer’s stock fell yesterday, which was interpreted to be due to the company’s instructions.

Most of the analysts have not made any changes to the recommendation or the target price of Sampo’s share, but there was some fine-tuning to the target prices.

Nordea lowered the target price to 10.80 euros from 11.10 euros. DNB Carnegie lowered the target price to 10.60 euros from 10.80 euros. Berenberg raised the target price to 11.30 euros from 11.20 euros. Everyone repeated their buy recommendation.

OP lowered the target price to EUR 10.00 from EUR 10.50 and reiterated the add recommendation. AlphaValue lowered the target price to 8.72 euros and repeated the sell recommendation.

According to the Bloomberg news agency, the average of the analysts’ recommendations is at the plus level and the target price at 10.66 euros.
