A new review conducted by Kaspersky revealed that cybercriminals have revived and developed some old phishing methods to target individuals and organizations, including cyber attacks via calendar applications, voice message fraud, and complex methods to bypass the multi-factor authentication (MFA) system. Calendar phishing is becoming more common in GCC organizations, as it specifically targets workflows prevalent in the regional corporate environment. Kaspersky advises companies to conduct regular phishing awareness training sessions, such as attack simulation workshops, to teach employees how to check for invalid calendar invitations.
