The Israeli airline Arkia appealed to the state with a request to regulate the process of insuring air flights to Minsk according to the model of insuring flights to Moscow, so that the company could continue flights to the capital of Belarus.
According to the Telegram channel “Aviation News”, some time ago, insurance companies in Europe changed their conditions, stopping insurance coverage for flights to Belarus against the backdrop of geopolitical events in the region.
The Arkia company, which only announced the resumption of flights to Minsk in December, was therefore forced to suspend flights in this direction until the insurance situation was resolved.
The company has asked the ministries of foreign affairs and finance to extend government aviation insurance reimbursement to flights to Belarus, in line with the model currently applied to flights to Moscow.
