Grupo Coppel will invest $14.3 billion this year

Grupo Coppel reported that in 2026 it will invest 14.3 billion pesos to strengthen and expand its commercial infrastructure, its technological capabilities and accelerate the use of clean energy.

“The allocation of resources responds to a strategy of growth and confidence in Mexico that will generate 2,500 direct jobs this year, in addition to the more than 130,000 it already has,” the company said in a statement.

The investment is part of Coppel’s 2026-2030 transformation plan announced last year, which includes a capital injection of 80 billion pesos.

The company specified that, of the total resources planned for this year, 6.2 billion pesos, 43 percent, will be allocated to commercial infrastructure; 4.5 billion, 31 percent, will go to technological transformation, and 3.6 billion, 26 percent, will go to plans related to the energy transition.

“This investment reflects our commitment to the country and allows us to advance our objective of consolidating a more agile omnichannel platform and achieving our goal of improving the lives of millions of Mexican families,” said Diego Coppel Sullivan, its general director.

The consortium emphasized that, in terms of infrastructure, it will remodel nearly 100 branches and distribution centers, in addition to opening more than 80 stores to conclude this year with 2 thousand establishments.

These initiatives, he noted, seek to improve customer experience and increase digital sales so that they reach 20 percent of the total by the end of 2030.

BanCoppel, for its part, will strengthen its digital capacity to improve access and experience for its more than 12 million customers. And in relation to the energy transition, the company aims to advance its goal so that in four years 30 percent of its energy consumption comes from clean sources.
