City and Farys open a new batting cage for sports clubs in De Schorre

With the investment, the city is responding to the growing demand for quality training infrastructure. Four clubs are now using the new facility: baseball club Piranhas, cricket club Ostend Exiles, cricket club Zalmi and Ostend Cricket Club. Thanks to the batting cage, they can practice in a more targeted manner, while the existing baseball and cricket fields are used more efficiently.

“Our clubs have been asking for better training options for some time,” says Alderman of Sport Charlotte Verkeyn (N-VA). “With this new batting cage, they can finally work fully on their batting technique. It is a great investment in their future and in the further development of Sportpark De Schorre.”

The batting cage was constructed next to the new multi-purpose clubhouse. With an investment of 63,562.01 euros, the city is taking another step forward in the expansion of De Schorre.
