The price of electricity will decrease on Sunday, but will remain at a high level

The average hourly price of exchange electricity for consumers (incl. VAT 25.5 percent) is at its highest on Sunday at 15.1 cents per kilowatt hour at 11 a.m. The price decreases throughout the day, and at its lowest is 6.7 cents per kilowatt hour at 11 p.m.

The hourly prices stated in the article are averages calculated from the four quarter-hour prices for each hour. Electronic exchange North Pool switched to 15-minute pricing from the beginning of October 2025.

Sunday’s price level is mostly high, as hourly prices above ten cents historically occur about a fifth of the time. The prices are clearly above the typical level of around four cents.

On Saturday, the price of electricity was even higher. The price reaches its peak at 6 p.m., when it is 19.0 cents per kilowatt hour. Otherwise, Saturday’s prices will remain above 12 cents per kilowatt hour all day.
