Construction company YIT seeks savings: 115 jobs at risk

Construction company YIT starts change negotiations. The efficiency measures, if implemented, could lead to a maximum of approximately 115 job losses in Finland, the company says in its press release.

According to the release, the company is planning to renew the operating model in the Asuminen Suomi and Rakennus business group. The goal is also to lighten the organizational structure.

Staff reductions that may be implemented as a result of the change negotiations may target white-collar workers, senior white-collar workers and managers in the Asuminen Suomi- and Rakennus business groups as well as group functions, the announcement lists.

As a result of the efficiency measures, YIT estimates that it will achieve annual, inflation-adjusted cost savings of around 15 million euros by the end of 2027 compared to 2025.

YIT announced the results for the last quarter of 2025 on Friday.

Turnover increased to 557 million euros in October–December. At the same time a year earlier, it was 521 million euros. Adjusted operating profit increased to 25 million euros.
