Israel and US create joint anti-smuggling unit

As part of the agreement, a joint unit will be created that will be responsible for the exchange of information and analysis of data regarding the movement of goods between countries.

The unit’s mission is to identify critical discrepancies in trade reporting that may indicate customs fraud, tax evasion, smuggling, terrorist financing and money laundering through international trade.

In the coming months, the process of implementing a joint mechanism, training teams and transferring data will begin.
