Tenant evicted for non-payment of bills will pay Bar Refaeli family 175 thousand shekels

The Bat Yam Magistrate’s Court ordered Avidan Gov, who rented an apartment in the Tel Aviv Blue housing complex from the family of top model Bar Refaeli, to pay 175 thousand shekels in compensation, reports the Walla portal.

The top model’s parents, Rafael and Tzipi Refaeli, rented out the apartment to Gov in 2019. After a few months, Gov stopped paying rent but refused to vacate the property.

When Rafi Refaeli came demanding repayment of the debt, Gov claimed that he had attacked him, called a police patrol and an ambulance, and sent messages to the son of the family, Doru Refaeli, threatening to release video recordings of the “attack” to the media.

In January 2020, leaflets were placed in the mailboxes of residents of the Blue complex, claiming that the Refaeli family was “on the verge of financial collapse”, with an appeal to help them sell the property before external management was introduced – indicating Rafi Refaeli’s personal telephone number. CCTV cameras captured Gova putting letters into boxes at night.

Subsequently, even more offensive leaflets appeared in one of the shopping centers in the north of Tel Aviv: family members were accused of criminal convictions, sexual harassment, bribery and tax evasion.

Gov then went on television, repeating his accusations and calling members of the Refaeli family “crooks” with links to the criminal underworld.

The court ruled that Gove’s actions were malicious and had one purpose – to divert attention from the need to pay debts.
