“The rain, what rain? »: despite the wait, the largest McDonald’s in France is full at Disney Village

“If you don’t like waiting in line at Disney in the rain, don’t come!” » This sturdy young man is laughing as a fine drizzle falls, this Thursday, February 19, on the forecourt of the McDonald’s at the Disney Village, in Chessy (Seine-et-Marne), the largest in France, open for two days.

The evening before, some customers did not hide their anger on social networks. “Allow 45 minutes of waiting before ordering,” lamented one of them, while Tatiana, furious, spoke of “more than 1 hour of waiting, dozens of pending orders that will be thrown away. »

This Thursday, although eleven order terminals, including two outside, were closed, the queue of around thirty meters did not dissuade American burger lovers from heading to this new restaurant.

“It was out of the question not to test it”

“There was no question of not testing it. It’s the largest in France so it’s normal to wait a little. They are in the process of getting used to it,” explains Élodie, a regular from Normandy with an annual entry pass to the amusement park.

“Who says extraordinary restaurant, says extraordinary running, recognizes McDonald’s France. The opening of this new restaurant was a remarkable success from the first hours, generating real enthusiasm among visitors. »

A thirst for discovery, visible among certain customers. “The rain, what rain,” laughs Martin, a Lille resident, also holder of an annual pass. I can’t wait to see the difference with the old one which was super dirty. » The previous sign of the American firm, quite impressive with a huge characteristic double arch, also sits a few meters away, behind fences, awaiting its demolition.

“Especially in the old one, there were just two or three menus. We’ll see what that gives, adds Élodie. At this stage, only potatoes, little appreciated by foreign customers, are not on the menu. “Are the interior elevators going to work,” Jean-Luc wonders more prosaically, in a wheelchair, waiting in line. Even if I’m in the rain, here I’m sure I can move around without worry. In Paris, it’s not the same story. »

“A very sustained attendance”

“It was quite quick and lovely,” said Conor, a Londoner at the exit, all smiles. “Given the crowd, I found it pretty quick,” adds James, a Canadian.

“Since Tuesday, we have been facing very high traffic as well as several technical adjustments, particularly IT adjustments,” continues McDonald’s France. Day after day, teams become more efficient: the organization becomes more fluid, systems gradually stabilize and fixes are deployed continuously. »

Despite everything, some customers rush to other stores when they see the queue. “We only have an hour for lunch and a colleague already inside is still waiting for his order. We won’t have time,” slips a young woman warned from inside the McDonald’s, before leaving with her colleagues.
