Antitrust Director Michal Cohen announced that she will not grant an exemption from the restrictive covenant for courier company Wolt’s retail delivery business in its current format.
This means Wolt will be forced to sell its Wolt Market retail division.
After an in-depth review of the market’s competitive environment and the proposed agreement under which Wolt Market operates on the Wolt platform in parallel with other retailers, Cohen concluded that the agreement in its current form raises concerns about harm to competition.
Antitrust officials said that after a lengthy dialogue with Wolt, it was concluded that there were no conditions that could sufficiently neutralize competitive concerns.
