Smotrich increased the limit for tax-free purchases on the Internet to 0

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich signed a decree setting the VAT exemption limit for private imports at $130.

Let us remind you that the day before the Knesset canceled Smotrich’s previous decree, which, from December 24, 2025, raised the limit from $75 to $150.

25 parliamentarians supported Smotrich’s decision and 59 voted against.

It should be noted that the signing of the decree is under the jurisdiction of the Minister of Finance and does not require the approval of the Knesset, however, the Knesset, on the recommendation of the Finance Committee, has the right to cancel the decree within 60 days from its entry into force.
