Wolt starts change negotiations in Finland and ends in Japan

Wolt announces that it will start change negotiations in Finland. The estimated reduction need is a maximum of 30 job roles and the estimated total effect is a maximum of 45 job roles. The amounts will be specified during the negotiations.

The reason for the change negotiations is said to be changes in the international organizational structure to simplify the operating model and clarify decision-making.

The change negotiations concern international personnel in Finland. The negotiations do not concern couriers.

CEO of Wolt Marianne Vikkula says in the release that Wolt has hired more than 5,000 employees in offices around the world in just two years.

“It is clear that in this kind of growth, organizational structures must also be reformed along the way. Our industry moves quickly, so speed and decision-making ability are emphasized,” says Vikkula in the press release.

In the process Wolt closes its business in Japan and Uzbekistan. Deliveroo, which belongs to the same American Doordash group, is withdrawing from Singapore and Qatar.

“We have decided to focus our investments on countries where we see the clearest path for long-term and sustainable growth in the future”, Wolt’s founder and chairman of the board Mickey Kuusi says in the announcement.
