Due to the installation of automatic recording and transcription devices in courtrooms, the Court Administration has decided to no longer open vacancies for stenographers, Globes reports.
To date, automated systems have been installed in 450 of the approximately 900 meeting rooms.
A collective agreement was signed with the stenographers already working in the system, under which they will gradually be retrained as administrative secretaries.
In their new position, they will be close to the judge and assist in conducting meetings.
