The Planning and Development Council of the Civil Administration, which controls Judea and Samaria, has approved plans for the construction of a large new area in the village of Kdumim. The new area will be called “Nachalat Esther”, it will cover an area of about 240 dunams and will include houses with 1,338 housing units.
As Kipa reports, residential buildings with a height of 9-14 floors, commercial spaces, public and educational institutions will be built in the new quarter, parks will be built and open spaces will be equipped. A green valley will be preserved in the center of the area and integrated into the layout.
In parallel with the approval of the new district, work is underway these days in Kdumim to build 88 housing units, and in the near future the construction of the Nahal Te’enim district with 380 housing units will begin.”
A few months ago, a plan was approved for the construction of the “A-Vradim” area with 370 housing units, in this area a shopping center will also be built, above which there will be apartments for the elderly. It is also planned to build the Givat Hemed area with more than 800 housing units.
Overall, plans are moving forward in Kdumim to build more than 3,000 new housing units, which would roughly quadruple the size of the village.
