Pino confirmed that the Government assures that “the conditions are not in place” to eliminate withholdings

Ante rumors that circulated last weekend that claimed that President Javier Milei would announce the elimination of withholdings Within the framework of Expoagro, which will begin on March 10, Pino indicated that both Milei and the Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, told him that “The conditions are not in place for that to happen”.

In dialogue with Radio Mitrethe head of the SRA maintained that said rumor, which circulated on networks, caught his “so much attention that I spoke with the Minister of Economy and the President of the Nation and they told me no”.

“Beyond the closeness on a personal level (with MIlei), I sit as president of the SRA to see what these rumors are based on and whether they are true or not and, if I have the possibility of talking to the authorities, I do so. It’s not that I go out to deny them, because that is not my role, because I am not an official. But things do have to be cut off, because otherwise the rumors are getting stronger and stronger and then the disappointments are very great”, he indicated.

In this sense, he stated that “I don’t see the field waiting for thatbut I do see hoping that this path that the Government took, of removing withholdings, will continue to develop. And this is demonstrated with actions: today we are talking about 24% withholdings on soybeans and when the Government began it was 33%. Goals and promises are being fulfilled. Maybe not with the speed that one would like due to anxiety, but also the frustration is great when one on the other side cannot give it to them. “We are going to continue insisting.”

On the other hand, Pino mentioned the internal tensions that exist in the SRA, where a group of partners yesterday circulated a letter denouncing that the president of the institutions cannot run again as a candidate for a new term, issue that he denied and questioned whether he seeks the renewal of his mandate.

“I’m finding out little by little, as letters and notes come out and arrive. In the letter they say some things that are not true.they lack information and it must also be seen that some of those who sign are not even partners. In an institution that is going through its 160th anniversary, it is good and noble that there are partners who care about institutional life, beyond what they claim, which is not real,” said Pino.

Regarding whether it is possible that he may run again as a candidate for president of the Argentine Rural Society (SRA), which for some would be the fourth consecutive term, and therefore prohibited by the statute, Pino noted that the General Inspection of Justice (IGJ) does consider his eventual nomination as valid, “so the conditions are given.”

However, he stressed that “in particular, I have not thought about being a candidate. I am a guy who lives from his work, I don’t have my life figured out: partners help me so that I can fulfill the role that I have to fulfill in the rural area and they are the ones who keep my activities running. Likewise, I have a wife and daughters and this takes up time. So I’m focused on management and the day to day. “I don’t have it as a priority in my head.”
