Israeli airspace will open on the night of March 5

Transport Minister Miri Regev approved the opening of airspace on the night of Thursday, March 5.

In the first phase, Ben Gurion International Airport will host one narrow-body aircraft flight every hour with a capacity of up to 200 passengers.

From Friday, March 6, the intensity will increase: every hour two narrow-body planes or one wide-body plane will land in Israel.

If everything goes according to plan, Ben Gurion Airport will be able to handle 8,000 to 9,000 passengers per day.

The airport will operate 24 hours a day, including weekends.

Planes will take off immediately after disembarking passengers, without stopping on the ground.

Passengers will be able to receive luggage, but they will not be able to pick up goods from the warehouse in the Duty Free zone.
