As a precautionary measure, the Czech pharmaceutical company Zentiva has recalled a batch of the painkiller Ibuflam containing the active ingredient ibuprofen.
The recall is being carried out as a precautionary measure, explained Zentiva. Even though the measure is aimed at wholesalers and pharmacies, consumers reportedly have the opportunity to return packs of the affected batch and receive a replacement as part of the usual processing of quality complaints.
According to the company, batch number 5R02514 of the drug Ibuflam 600 mg Lichtenstein film-coated tablets (50 pieces) is affected, as the company announced in Berlin.
A reason for the recall was not given. “Patient safety is our top priority,” Zentiva said. Other media reported foreign bodies in the tablets. The drug is also available in Austria.
