The price of electricity remains at an affordable level

The average hourly price of exchange electricity for consumers (incl. VAT 25.5 percent) is very low on Thursday.

The price drops to less than one cent per kilowatt-hour in the evening starting at 8 p.m. and reaches its lowest level, 0.4 cents/kWh, at 11 p.m. The highest hourly price of the day is 3.3 cents per kilowatt-hour.

The hourly prices stated in the article are averages calculated from the four quarter-hour prices for each hour. Electronic exchange North Pool switched to 15-minute pricing from the beginning of October 2025.

Thursday’s price level is clearly below the typical hourly price of around four cents. Hourly prices of less than five cents occur in the electricity market about half of the time, so it is a common, but clearly affordable price period.
