Transport Minister: “Israeli skies could be closed again at any moment”

Transport Minister Miri Regev said all Israelis remaining in Dubai and Abu Dhabi would be returned by Saturday. “If a decision is not made to reduce the number of flights by Saturday due to the security situation, the evacuation of Israelis from the UAE will be completed,” she said.

Regev asked Israelis abroad whose connecting flights would pass through the UAE not to use this route. The minister emphasized: “At any time, in accordance with the situation, flights may be suspended.”

Regev also appealed to Israeli airlines demanding that they not inflate prices. “Don’t inflate prices, that’s why we continue to promote Wizz’s return to Israel.”

Miri Regev also reported that starting from this coming Sunday, it is planned to organize evacuation flights from Thailand and Japan.

At the same time, the El Al airline announced that starting next week it will expand the operation to return Israelis from Bangkok, Phuket and Tokyo. It is expected that next week about 20 flights will be operated in these directions, bringing more than 6 thousand people back to Israel.
