US President Donald Trump announced plans to build the first large oil refinery in 50 years with the participation of Indian energy giant Reliance Industries.
In a Truth Social post, Trump said the facility would be built by America First Refining at the Port of Brownsville in Texas.
“America is reclaiming REAL ENERGY DOMINANCE. Today, I am proud to announce that America First Refining is opening the FIRST new U.S. refinery in 50 YEARS in Brownsville, Texas. THIS IS A HISTORIC $300 BILLION AGREEMENT, THE LARGEST IN U.S. HISTORY,” it said.
According to Trump, the plant “will be the cleanest oil refinery in the world,” will strengthen the country’s energy security and boost economic growth.
