An order from Germany for Summa Defence’s subsidiary

Defense conglomerate Total defenses the subsidiary has signed a supply contract with the German Defense Forces, the company informs.

Uusikaupunkin Työvene Oy has signed a contract for the delivery of a SWATH crew transport vessel to the Office of Equipment, Information Technology and Operational Support (BAAINbw) of the Bundeswehr of the German Federal Armed Forces.

SWATH is an acronym Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull– from the ship. The first SWATH crew transport vessel (CTV) has been delivered in September 2025 and will operate at offshore wind farms in the North Sea.

According to the company, the value of the order is not made public due to the security interests of the Federal Republic of Germany. The order will be added to Summa Defence’s order book for the first half of 2026, and the ship’s delivery will take place in the second half of this year.

On Wednesday, Summa Defence’s subsidiary Lännen Tractors also announced that it had signed a significant contract with a European NATO country.
