The economy grew 4.4% in 2025, according to INDEC

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased 2.1% in the last quarter of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024 and the economy closed last year with a growth of 4.4%. This was reported by INDEC in a report published this Friday.

In both 2023 and 2024 the GDP had closed with negative numbers: -1% last year and -1.6% the previous year. In 2022, meanwhile, it had risen 5%.

GDP increased by 2.1% in the year-on-year balance of the last quarter, while the variation was 0.6% – in seasonally adjusted terms – compared to the third quarter of 2025.

According to INDEC, the annual numbers responded to the rise in private consumption (7.9%), public consumption (0.2%), exports (7.6%) and gross fixed capital formation (16.4%).

The activity sectors with the greatest increase were Financial intermediation (24.7% yoy), Mining and quarrying (8.0%) and Hotels and restaurants (7.4%). Fishing (-15.2%) and Private households with domestic service (-1.1%) have fallen.

Meanwhile, in the comparison to the third quarter of 2025 There was an increase in Exports (5.0%) and Private Consumption (1.7%). On the other hand, there were falls in Public Consumption (-1.0%) and Gross Fixed Capital Formation (-2.8%).
