Israel sharply increases arms purchases from Serbia

38 cargo flights carrying weapons arrived from Belgrade to Israel in 2025. Judging by the fact that 17 such flights have already been carried out in the first 2.5 months of 2026, the volume of defense purchases from Serbia will increase further this year.

According to the Haaretz newspaper, a total of five Serbian companies supply weapons to Israel. It is not reported what exactly is being supplied, but according to the newspaper, we are primarily talking about artillery shells.

It should be emphasized that security relations between the two countries are bilateral in nature.

At the beginning of 2025, Elbit Maarahot sold modern artillery systems and drones to Serbia worth $335 million. In August, an additional contract worth $1.6 billion was signed, under which Belgrade will receive drones, long-range missiles, electronic warfare systems and other weapons.
