Trips to and from the AICM operate normally

Uber maintained that its trips to and from the Mexico City Airport operate normally, despite the fact that the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) reported that the company does not have authorization to provide services within the polygon of this and other airports.

Through emails sent to his clients since last Friday, he defended that the service can be carried out because there is a “definitive judicial suspension that orders the National Guard to cease the arbitrary and discriminatory detention of vehicles that make trips through the app of Uber in airports.

“This means that: You can request trips to and from airports as normal,” Uber reiterated in its message. On the other hand, the SICT reported in a statement on March 11 that it does not have permission to make these trips.

“Uber does not have authorization to provide services within the Mexico City Airport area and other airports; nor does it limit the authority to raising violations, as long as it is done in accordance with established regulations.”

He detailed that on July 15, 2025, Uber México Technology & Software filed an amparo lawsuit before the thirteenth court against the operations carried out by the National Guard and the Federal Roads, Bridges and Motor Transportation Law, among others.

He explained that the judge granted the definitive suspension for the sole purpose of ensuring that the authorities do not carry out arbitrary and discriminatory arrests of vehicles. appwithout this implying that the legal provisions that govern motor transportation are no longer observed.

Therefore, in that statement, the SICT recommended users use authorized taxi services at airports.

Uber pointed out that the judicial resolution is in force, is mandatory and must be complied with. “When you need to travel to or from the airport, you can request your trip normally from the app”.

On March 17, this newspaper reported that AICM-authorized taxi drivers earn between 50 and 80 percent of each trip made and the ticket vending modules keep the rest of the money, according to a price table from the concessionaires.
