It is the secret of the 75 best Italian work environments that appear in the ranking today Best Workplaces Italia 2026 stilato da Great Place to Work Italia. For all these the Trust Index mediothe indicator of an organisation’s climate of trust, is equal to 85%, an increase of +1% compared to 2025 (84%). A gap of 10 percentage points in comparison with the data of companies certified but not present in the ranking (75%) which even widens to +41% in comparison with the data of the average Trust Index of the Italian norm (44%).
Another interesting analysis parameter is represented byOverall Satisfactiona more direct evaluation of the excellence of a working environment which, in 2026, was found to be equal to 87% (same result as in 2025), with a difference of +44% in comparison with the Italian norm (43%). A high level of employee trust is directly reflected in the company’s turnover: the “best Italian workplaces” recorded an average growth in revenues, compared to the previous year, of +20%, a figure which, when compared with the 1% increase in turnover recorded by the Italian organizations belonging to industry and services included in the Istat index, makes us understand the importance, for the development of the company’s business, of having involved and satisfied collaborators.
These are just some of the main insights that emerge from the Best Workplaces Italia 2026 ranking, drawn up by Great Place to Work Italia, a leading company in the analysis of employee experience, listening to the opinion expressed by over 210 thousand collaborators from 415 Italian organisationssuddivise in 5 categories based on the number of collaborators: (10-49), (50-149), (150-499), (500-999) (+1,000).
Sector and location of the best places to work
Going into more detail, in the analysis of the ranking of the 75 best Italian work environments to work for in 2026, we discover how one organization in 4 (25.3%) belongs to the IT sectorfollowed by biotechnology and pharmaceuticals (14.67%), financial services and insurance (12%), manufacturing and production (10.67%), professional services (9.33%), healthcare (5.33%), retail, telecommunications and hospitality (4%), advertising, marketing and media (2.67%) and agriculture, construction, transport, education and training (1.33%).
At the territorial distribution level, however,over 7 out of 10 companies (72%) are based in Lombardy (49.3%) and Lazio (22.67%) and in total there are 11 Italian regions represented in the ranking. Valle D’Aosta, Trentino Alto Adige, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Liguria, Umbria, Campania, Basilicata, Sicily and Sardinia However, they do not have “best workplaces” present in the area.

Meritocracy, benefits and much more
The 75 best Italian working environments, compared with 2025, show growing indicators with respect to areas such as meritocracy (73%, +2%) and special events (90%, +2%) while aspects such as empowerment, benefits and flexibility are down 1%. The elements that most differentiate the best companies from the certified ones concern issues such as communication, care, involvement, welcome and support. From the analysis of the comments of the collaborators of the best workplaces it emerges that what makes the working environment unique and/or special is above all thehelp and support (21%), atmosphere (13%) and collaboration (12%) while elements such as work space, working hours and flexibility and work-life balance are at the bottom of the ranking (8%). Again according to the collaborators of the best workplaces companies, among the improvements to be made to make the working environment better, there are: remuneration (19%), internal processes (17%) and communication (16%).
However, analyzing the average Trust Index, recorded on the basis of the size of the best Italian organisations, it is clear that there is a gap between the trust index recorded by the small companies in the ranking (94%) compared to the data of the medium (88%), medium-large (85%), large and super large (79%) companies.
What are the best companies to work for
Here are the best working environments in Italy in 2026, divided into categories based on the number of collaborators.
1000+ collaborators
In the category of companies with more than 1,000 employees, the best organization to work for is Hilton (hotel), followed by Abbvie (biotechnology and pharmaceuticals) e TP (telecommunications).
500-599 employees
Moving on to the category of organizations that have between 500 and 999 collaborators, it triumphs Cisco (information technology)in front of Bending Spoons (information technology) e ConTe.it (insurance).
150-499 employees
In the category of companies that have between 150 and 499 employees it wins MetLife (financial services & insurance), complete the podium Bristol-Myers Squibb (biopharmaceutical) e Jet HR (HR Tech).
50-149 employees
The podium in the category between 50 and 149 collaborators sees first place Biogen (biotechnology) and complete the podium Galileo Life (healthcare) e Reverse SpA (human resources).
