The government is promoting a program to help people who have taken mashkanta

The government will approve today a proposal to provide assistance to people who have taken out a mortgage loan.

According to Kan, the decision was made by the Ministry of Finance in connection with the increase in the discount rate. The cost of the project is approximately two billion shekels.

This step is an initiative of the government’s economic adviser Avi Simhon.

The government’s legal counsel’s office said it opposed the proposal. “It is unacceptable to promote a bill that provides for a gigantic distribution of budgets without any professional justification, with the provision of benefits to certain groups of the population,” says the office of the government’s legal adviser.

Economists also strongly oppose the law because it discriminates against Israelis living in rented housing and rewards poor financial decisions.
