La Jornada: Sheinbaum supports SAT’s fight against false donors

The Tax Administration Service (SAT) found that organizations with registration of donees have been used to subcontract personnel, a practice prohibited by law, said President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.

During yesterday morning, he said that on Monday he met with the head of the fiscal body, Antonio Martínez Dagnino, who informed him that some associations were involved in subcontracting and did not pay taxes. “What does doneataria mean? That it does not pay taxes when someone donates resources. So, an organization (of this type) that had non-payment of taxes was being used by a company to hire personnel through this organization.”

He reiterated that the cancellation of authorizations for these associations derived from technical analyzes of the fiscal agency and not from political decisions of his government. “It’s not that the President says: ‘take away this person’s ability to be a donee’. I don’t even get involved in those issues. The SAT does its technical analysis. And from that, it determines whether they are complying with what is required to be able to be a donee.” He pointed out that in the reviews it was also detected that organizations of this type could not accredit their activities or presented other irregularities in compliance with requirements. “There are cases that could not demonstrate that, in fact, they comply, and there are others that have other flaws.” He indicated that any dissident has the right to a hearing at the SAT, “so that they know what analysis was done and what is being violated and agree to be a donee, not to pay taxes.”

In the first week of receipt of the annual declaration for individuals, the SAT reported that refunds of 2,179 million pesos had already been authorized and this balance in favor of taxpayers would be deposited in three days on average.
