The domestic textile company “Luss Textile” from Raška will build and open a factory in the territory of the town of Kruševac in 2023, and more than 500 workers will be employed, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) announced today.
A few days ago, the company from Raška took over the Italian factory “Gruppo Fiorentino” from Vlasoticin, where it will employ another 120 textile workers.
“The business plan for the next year is to open the most modern factory in this part of Europe, which will be opened in the Rasin district, on the territory of the city of Kruševac. As part of this investment, the plan is to employ over 500 workers from the opening of the factory,” said the owner of the company “Lus tekstil Sava Mitrović, who employs 350 workers in Raška.
From the association for the textile, clothing, leather and footwear industry PKS indicated that this company has become a strategic supplier and partner to the world’s largest fashion brands in a short period of time and that it participates in the process of dual education and employs workers from Kosovo and Metohija.
According to official data, almost 61,000 workers are employed in the textile industry in Serbia, which is 2.7 percent of the total employment in Serbia.
Last year, the retail turnover of clothing products exceeded one billion euros, which is 12 percent more than in 2020.
