Castle of ‘The Godfather III’ is for sale for 6 million euros
Have you ever fantasized about living in a Sicilian castle with a mafia allure? Then this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Floristella Castle near Catania, which was used as a movie site for Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather III starring Al Pacino, is up for sale for 6 million euros.

The barons Pennisi di Floristella’s castle in Sicily not only made film history thanks to the mafia trilogy The Godfather, but the structure itself is steeped in history. Baron Agostino Pennisi di Floristella commissioned Giuseppe Patricolo, a well-known Palermo architect, to construct the castle in 1800. His large art collection had to be housed in the castle.

It was devastated by fire in 1880, but it resurrected from the ashes two years later in all its magnificence. During World War II, the 140-year-old property miraculously survived an earthquake and a bombing assault.
