The Fujairah Natural Resources Foundation’s Board of Directors reviewed the Foundation’s semi-annual plan, quarterly reports, institutional work progress, specific value-added initiatives, and strategic projects, during the regular meeting of the Board of Directors, chaired by Engineer Muhammad Saif Al-Afkham, Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, Engineer Ali Qasim, General Manager of the Foundation, and members of the Board of Directors. .
The meeting discussed the organizational and technical procedures for hosting the Fujairah International Mining Forum and the accompanying exhibition, which will be held under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of the Emirate of Fujairah, next October.
Updates were reviewed on the Fujairah International Award for Best Sustainable Mining Practices, which was approved by the Corporation’s Board of Directors, as the first award for sustainable mining in the Middle East, which will honor distinguished institutions and individuals inside and outside the country, to showcase the best achievements in this field, out of the Corporation’s belief in the importance of consolidating all efforts. To achieve the sustainable development goals and their foundations, to achieve the UAE Vision 2071 and to achieve the Vision of the Emirate of Fujairah 2040.
The meeting highlighted the internal categories for institutions and individuals in the UAE and the external categories for all participants from outside the country, the award themes and detailed criteria for each category, and the executive steps to work on this award.
The activities and efforts made by the Corporation were also reviewed, which culminated in achieving positive indicators in the field of customer service and happiness. The meeting also introduced the Corporation’s international participation in the largest forums and conferences, most notably the exhibition and forum for exploring opportunities in the Kuwaiti market.
Al-Afkham said that during the first half of this year, the Foundation witnessed more notable achievements and successes, including developing business development plans and policies, enhancing joint cooperation with its strategic partners, and launching and implementing many pioneering initiatives, all of which contribute to ensuring a more sustainable future for the Emirate of Fujairah and the UAE. in general.
While Qasim stressed that the Foundation will continue to work to enhance and develop its operations, to achieve a balance between the requirements of preserving natural resources and the priorities of their development, and to support the tireless efforts made by the Fujairah government to achieve sustainability.
